Excelsior is a multi-currency expert advisor that executes a popular variant of the recurrent neural network. It is created to work on 8 main trading instruments, including AUDUSD, EURUSD, GBPCHF, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, and USDJPY. The robot trades on both daily and weekly charts.
Vendor transparency is wanting. The only thing we know about the developer of this EA is that he is called Evgeniy Scherbina, lives in Russia, and has developed Neural Bar Predictor, NewsCatcher Pro, TradeKeeper Pro, etc. There’s no data on his professional background and trading experience in the Forex market.

How to start trading with Excelsior
A lifetime license of Excelsior goes for $385. This price is costly given that the average price for an EA in this market ranges between $100 and $200. A money-back guarantee is not available.
To begin trading with the system, you need to purchase it at the quoted price and later attach it to your preferred account, MT4 or MT5. Once activated, it will trade for you based on the trading strategy described below.
Excelsior applies 2 independent recurrent neural networks to compute “buy” and “sell” signals. It can open trades any time within the week as long as the weekly signal is valid. A weekly signal is computed depending on the competition of the “buy” and “sell” signals on similar weekly bars. Daily trades can be opened any time within the day when the daily signal is still valid. The computation of a daily signal is done for vital crossings of indicators on daily bars. As per the vendor, the EA is capable of compensating losing trades if volatility in the market increases.
Backtests
This backtest was conducted using historical data dating between 2018 and 2021. The EA implemented 809 trades. By the end of the trading period, it had placed 397 sell orders and 412 buy orders using a $1000 deposit. The resulting profit was enormous – $31607209.44 was made. We doubt if such an amount can be realized under real market situations. The drawdown was 17.54% and showed that the robot engaged in safe trading.
Verified trading results of Excelsior
Excelsior operated this account between October 2019 and June 2021. Clearly, it hardly made any profits monthly. So, the account only grew by 3.65% in almost 2 years of active trading. Other data values are hidden, probably because they are not appealing.
Only 11 trades were executed, a sign of inefficient capital usage. All the short positions placed were successful. The buy orders had a 57% success rate. There was a profit factor of 1.66.
The account’s risk of ruin was high. It is thus not surprising the developer deactivated this account.
The EA could stay for days without opening any position. Different currency pairs were applied during trading.
Customer reviews
Excelsior’s presentation features 19 customer reviews, and all of them are positive except for two. What we are getting from the testimonials is that the EA is lucrative for some traders and unprofitable for others. Apparently, the system generated up to 35% profits in a month for a trader. On the other hand, it caused another client to lose more than 500 pips in all positions within a week.
Is Excelsior a viable option?
Advantages
- Fully automated
- Backtest results are presented
Disadvantages
- Low trading frequency
- Pricey
- High risk of ruin
- Low return rate
Summary
Excelsior eliminates the need to trade manually, and the presence of backtest data reveals that the efficiency of its strategy was tested. But it seems that the strategy may not work well in the long run. We see that the developer had to deactivate a live account the EA was running on Myfxbook after its risk of ruin increased. He also hides info on vital data, a sign that the results may not have been good.
