Happy Trend is one of the trading robots offered by Happy Forex that work on high volatility and uses a news filter. There have been several modifications to the expert advisor for improving the overall consistency.
Features
The robot has the following features coded in its algorithm:
- Uses no martingale, grid, and hedging strategies
- It is extremely easy to install and is fully automated
- Detects 4 and 5 digits brokers and has support for ECN exchanges
Strategy
The robot works only during periods of high volatility and uses the news filter to open one trade at maximum with proper money management. It tries to capture proper trends for maximizing profits. The entries are precise, and the stop loss and take profit levels are dynamic. There is no further information available on the strategic department on the website. Using the trading history on FXStat, we can see that it trades on USDCHF, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, USDJPY, and EURUSD and closes out positions on the same day.
How to start trading with Happy Trend
The robot comes with two licenses and nine other robots from the same developer at 299 Euros. For five licenses you have to pay 499 Euros.
The developer will send you the robot via email, which you will have to place in the designated folder on MetaTrader 4 for working. There is no statement on the recommended balance and leverage. The live trading results show that he is using 1:500, which is extremely risky. Using borrowed money for trading can wipe your account within seconds. Backtesting results show the expert advisor trade on the hourly chart.
Backtests
Backtesting results are available for all pairs with a modeling quality of 99.9%. On each pair, the system has a winning rate that hangs between 80-95%. The profit factor fluctuates between 1.5 and 3.5 and is associated with the pair and robot settings. We can see that there are many modifications in the order when it is opened. The system probably trails the stop loss when the order goes in the profit. The drawdown for each currency pair falls between 5% to 11%. All the performance statistics are from January 1, 2020, till December 6, 2020. The systems tank a total net profit of $240 to $350 for a deposit of $1000.
Verified Trading Results of Happy Trend
Live trading records on FXStat are not satisfactory. While the winning percentage remains more or less the same in contrast with backtesting, the profit factor is extremely low i.e. 1.26. The robot started trading on March 29 and has had frequent ups and downs until now. FXStat themselves provide a poor rating of 51.8 out of 100 with a high-risk score of 8.7 out of 10. It had an average profitable trade of $22.65 while a loss of -$8.39. The best trade was $15.42 and worse -$36.90. These statistics explain why the risk-reward ratio is low. For such an expert advisor to succeed it has to increase the take profit target which it fails to do so.
Customer Reviews
Customer reviews available on Forex Peace Army and Trust Pilot indicate they are bought out and written from the developer himself. There is also a warning from FPA as they remove feedback from the same location as the developers.
Is Happy Trend a viable option?
Happy Trend has super low performance in regards to the asking price. It is not a profitable system as of now and is probably a way for the developer to add to their list of failing robots and convince customers by telling them they are getting free EAs.
Advantages
- It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee
Disadvantage
- It has little to no gains
- No transparency from the developer on his whereabouts
- The price point is high
Conclusion
Happy Trend fails because it is still underdeveloped even after many updates. After fixing the risk-reward ratio and maintaining the same winning level, there is a slight chance it may work. For now, there is no indication for it to function correctly.
