Resumption of Operations After Unplanned Maintenance
One segment of Kinder Morgan Inc.’s SFPP pipeline system has returned to service, while another is expected to resume operations Wednesday morning after undergoing unplanned maintenance.
Colton to Phoenix Segment
The 20-inch-diameter Colton to Phoenix segment along the company’s SFPP pipeline system is now back in service. This segment was temporarily shut down for investigation due to potential washout concerns following heavy rains from Tropical Storm Hilary.
Niland to Imperial Segment
The 6-inch-diameter Niland to Imperial segment is also anticipated to resume operations on Wednesday morning.
Impact on the Phoenix Gasoline Market
The closure of the Colton to Phoenix segment had led to tighter supplies in the Phoenix gasoline market. However, with the resumption of operations, this is expected to alleviate the strain.
According to OPIS Rack data, the Phoenix-area cleaner burning gasoline prices ranged from $3.7711/gal to $3.96/gal on Tuesday evening. The unbranded rack average was reported as $3.9331/gal, while the branded rack average stood at $3.8181/gal.
