Swiss Life Holding has announced that Patrick Frost will be stepping down as chief executive at the group’s annual general meeting in May next year, after a decade in the role. Frost’s successor will be Matthias Aellig, the current chief financial officer, who will take on the position on May 16, 2024.
In addition, Marco Gerussi, the head of finance transformation since 2018, will replace Aellig as CFO.
Frost expressed his decision to step down, saying, “After serving for 18 years on the group executive board of Swiss Life, ten of which as CEO, I have decided to step down from my operational role in May 2024 to focus more on strategic tasks.”
Swiss Life has plans to propose Frost as a member of its board of directors at the 2026 annual general meeting.
Further changes within Swiss Life include Joerg Arnold stepping down as CEO of Swiss Life’s German business at the end of June 2024. Arnold will then assume the role of non-executive chairman of the supervisory board of Swiss Life Deutschland Holding. Dirk von der Crone is set to take over as CEO of Swiss Life Germany starting from July 1, 2024.
