The U.K. stock market experienced a decline on Friday, with the FTSE 100 Index closing down at 7,360.55, representing a decrease of 1.28%.
Declines in Key Companies
Several companies listed on the FTSE 100 saw significant declines in their shares on Friday:
- Diageo PLC (DGE) experienced the largest decline, with shares tumbling 12.17%.
- Ocado Group PLC (OCDO), a food retail firm, saw its shares shed 5.58%.
- Precious metals company Fresnillo PLC (FRES) also experienced a decline of 4.93%.
Top Decreases in the Market
In addition to the above-mentioned companies, two other notable decreases in stock value were observed:

In currency markets, the pound recorded a decline of 0.18% against the dollar and 0.16% against the euro.
Meanwhile, Brent crude rose by 1.9% to $81.50, and the yield on the 10-year gilt increased by 6.030 basis points to 4.335%.
